Luwasa expanded clay is kidney-shaped. The expanded clay from Luwasa consists of low-salt clays. This means the hydro balls need to be washed less. It has a comparatively low weight. It does not store any water or nutrients, but conducts them on its surface to the roots of the plant. The structurally stable expanded clay is baked at high temperatures in drum ovens. Another advantage of Luwasa expanded clay is that the hydro balls are very bulky, which gives the plant more support.

Luwasa expanded clay beads should be rinsed before use.

Reason:
During filling, clay dust is created, which can otherwise temporarily increase the EC value and contaminate the nutrient solution.
Rinsing with clean water removes loose particles and any salt residue.
Optional: If you want to be absolutely sure, you can also soak the beads briefly in pH-adjusted water (approx. 5.5–6.0) before planting plants

Luwasa expanded clay is made from fired, low-salt clay. It is chemically neutral, nutrient-free, pH-stable, and its porous structure ensures good aeration and drainage.

Preparation of Luwasa expanded clay:
Rinse thoroughly with clean water
Briefly soak in pH-adjusted water (approx. 5.5–6.0)
Then plant directly

Quality parameters pH ~6–7.5 | EC ~0.1

pH value: Indicates the acidity of the soil, optimal 6.0–7.0 for good nutrient absorption.
EC value: Shows the nutrient concentration in the soil, too high = danger for the roots.
