About Terra Aquatica

Who is Terra Aqutica

Terra Aquatica was founded in France in 1994 by William Texier and Noucetta (Marie) Kehdi. With their White Owl WaterFarm, the two had already made an international name for themselves in the early 1990s as producers of hydroponically grown fruit and vegetables, which they supplied to Michelin-starred restaurants along the San Francisco Bay Area.

From the beginning, William was open to new developments. He combined high-performance hydroponic systems with environmentally friendly, organic processes, which are more important today than ever, to create new products and techniques. Together, he and Noucetta developed groundbreaking concepts for innovative, modern cultivation techniques using fertilizers made from highly purified, predominantly food-grade ingredients, which they combined with 100% organic ingredients.

The technology

The development of new, unique products for modern cultivation methods brought about a rethinking of nutrient solutions. Recognizing that all life is part of a symbiotic process, William and Noucetta created product formulations for nutrient solutions that are full of life. In this novel approach, plants and their living environment form a carefully coordinated, holistic system.

Hydroponics and organic farming have given rise to something new that combines the advantages of both cultivation methods. When plants live in an environment where beneficial organisms protect and defend them, pesticides are unnecessary. Harsh chemical additives, such as those used in most modern agricultural operations, are unsuitable. Symbiotic cultivation is only possible in a living system that uses safe ingredients and formulations. William and Noucetta coined the now globally recognized term "bioponics" for this new cultivation method, and Terra Aquatica remains the market leader in this field.

Everything the grower needs

Today, Terra Aquatica products are used worldwide as nutrition for healthy food crops, as well as medicinal and ornamental plants. Their formulation takes into account the specific requirements of growers and the diverse environmental conditions of cultivating plants for personal use or local markets.

The primary criterion that Terra Aquatica's unique products must meet is that they are holistic, sustainable, and environmentally friendly. And because water, light, temperature, humidity, and natural factors create different microclimates from location to location, our products are formulated to be suitable for use in a wide variety of environments—from the scorching heat of the desert regions of the Middle East to the arctic cold of Siberia.

Every environment is different and brings with it different customer requirements and different plant needs.

Terra Aquatica is at the forefront of modern agriculture. As recognized experts in their field, William and Noucetta enjoy high academic respect worldwide. As part of their intensive teaching activities, they travel extensively and frequently and have published numerous articles and books that are now required reading for agricultural students worldwide. William's book, "Hydroponics Made Easy," now available in seven languages, offers a wealth of background knowledge and information for anyone who wants to grow plants for themselves and their families.
