The Rhino pre-filter was specifically designed to trap dust and other airborne particles before they reach the activated carbon bed of the main filter.
The high-quality polyester fleece protects the filter core, thereby extending the lifespan of the Rhino Pro filter to up to 2 years and at the same time ensuring that the air can flow freely through the carbon bed.
The pre-filter is simply placed over the filter and can be cleaned in the washing machine if necessary.
However, to maintain consistently high filter performance, it is recommended to replace the pre-filter every 3 to 6 months .

Rhino Pro filters are designed for daily, intensive use – even under industrial conditions. With a lifespan of approximately two years, they guarantee consistent performance and maximum odor control, even at high airflow rates.
Thanks to their robust construction and uniform filling with activated carbon, they offer consistently high filter performance throughout their entire service life.
The Rhino Hobby Filter series was developed for smaller or less frequent applications. It offers the same effective air purification but is designed for a slightly shorter lifespan – ideal for hobby growers and more compact systems.
To extend the lifespan, Rhino offers replaceable, machine-washable pre-filters that should be changed regularly to maintain the performance of the main filter.
Efficiency
Both the Pro and Hobby series use high-quality, Australian RC4-12 activated carbon granules . This "virgin activated carbon" (unused, high-purity activated carbon) is characterized by its optimal particle size:
The numbers “4–12” indicate the mesh size – a combination of larger and smaller particles ensures strong airflow with maximum filtration efficiency .
Inside the Pro models, the air is swirled in a special vortex system , ensuring that the entire airflow is evenly distributed over the activated carbon bed. This reliably neutralizes every odor molecule particle.

Rhino filters are made of high-quality, galvanized steel and feature a sturdy, fine-mesh inner housing that securely holds the activated carbon granules in place.
The activated carbon is filled using machine compression to avoid air inclusions and to maintain a constant density throughout its entire lifespan.
